June 1, 2002.  I have started on the trim wing and two of the four rudders.  A 12T4 normally does not have a trim wing and uses just two rudders to control direction.  However, Marquis Songer of UH suggested that I add a trim wing to this HC and he has way more experience than I do.  I may yet only have three rudders but four would be more efficient and help with low speed maneuvering.

I still have to sand the wood and glass the edges and center sections. The trailing edge has glass on it as I was concerned that the rudder would be damaged too easily if the trailing edge was not glassed quickly.  The rudders were basically cut to shape by Jay and only needed some  finish sanding and glassing.  Thanks Jay!!!

BTW, I am using aluminum 3/4" O.D. tubing I purchased from Texas Towers for the pivot rod instead of a wood dowel.  It is very light weight and sturdy.

Weights added to the top of the wood to ensure a good bond.
