| Destination Imagination is a science fair for the Tomball
School District in Texas. Kids can sign up to learn and participate in
a wide variety of science projects and experiments. This year I
volunteered to teach about "hovercrafts". It turned out to be the most
popular of the classes. 60 kids will build 20 hovercrafts with the
assistance of some friends of mine, Ken Jansen, Gerry Laws, Chris Keirs,
myself and my son Mike as the mentors. It should be a pretty wild day. Here are some
pictures of Chris Keirs and myself building some of the raw materials that
we will use and some pictures from the event. About 54 kids showed up
but, in the interest of privacy, I am not going to post their pictures.
We used the school gym and built four hovercrafts in each class. It
was a blast but we were all pretty tired at the end of the day.
