| To increase the range of the hovercraft, I changed the two 25 gallon
tanks to two 40 gallon tanks. This turned into a big project as
all the plumbing had to be redone. I also noticed that the braded
fuel lines from the fuel filters to the engine fuel rail had ends that
were broken as can be seen in picture 6 below. I had two new
braded hoses made and picture 5 shows the old hose and the new hose at
the bottom. Each new hose is SS braid over Teflon hose. They
should last for some time. Pics 1-3 below show the piping for the
new tanks and the new in-line filters.
3/29/06. I have decided to redo the fuel system to have redundant fuel pumps and to make it easier to get to the fuel filters etc for service. I also want to add fuel flow sensors for fuel meters. This will be a substantial project I think.
